Education and Experience
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Denver Seminary, where I gained a strong foundation in both theology and counseling theories and methodology. During my practicum at Denver Counseling Center and internship at Colorado Christian University, I worked with elementary-aged children, college students, newly married couples, and military service members and their spouses.
My professional background also includes working in a group home for teenage boys with developmental disabilities and mental illness. Currently, I train staff who work with patients with severe mental illness for the State of Colorado.
I also bring eight years of service in the US Army Reserves, including a 12-month deployment to Iraq and Kuwait. My military experience gives me a deep understanding of the stress and challenges faced by service members and their families.
Counseling Approach
I primarily use cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused approaches. I help clients recognize how thoughts, emotions, and actions are connected, and I teach practical ways to manage unhelpful patterns.
Clients often describe my style as warm and caring, creating a safe and trusting environment. My role is to guide and support you in identifying your strengths, uncovering your goals, and making changes that align with who you want to be, not what others expect of you.
My goal is simple: to help you manage stress, anxiety, and self-doubt so you can live with more confidence, peace, and purpose.
